• EPCs rate a building’s energy efficiency on a scale from A (best) to G (worst).
  • Required for all non-domestic buildings that are available for sale or rent, or are being constructed.
  • A high (A-C) score on an EPC makes a building easier to sell or rent in a competitive market, since it clearly demonstrates that a building is energy-efficient and, therefore, cheaper to run than a poorly-scoring building.
  • Commercial businesses larger than 500 metres squared that have already produced an EPC must prominently display their EPC.
