5m green energy fund to target SMEs

A new multi-million pound finance fund has launched with the aim of helping small and medium-sized businesses cut the cost of their energy through green and energy efficiency measures, writes Greenwise Business.

The ReEnergise SmartEnergy Fund has an initial capital of £5 million, although it will have no “upper limit” on funding, according to ReEnergise, the independent financial services provider that has launched the fund.

It is solely targeting small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), offering them commercial loans – typically between £25,000 and £250,000 – to invest in energy efficiency measures and renewable energy systems.
