The UK’s construction sector has grown for the second consecutive month, according to data released by the Office for National Statistics.
The growth in May and June was boosted by a rise in house building, and companies have reported rising levels of client demand and larger volumes of new work. Employment also rose in the sector for the first time since February and at the fastest rate since September 2012.
It is thought that this growth will aid second quarter growth figures. As an energy-efficient building controls specialist that delivers turn-key solutions, BG Energy Solutions encourages the construction industry to consider the benefits of low-carbon buildings.
Duncan Biggins, Managing Director of the lighting controls firm, BG Energy Solutions, says: “We expect to see an increased interest in ensuring that new buildings are as ‘intelligent’ and efficient as possible, enabling tenants to cut costs and carbon emissions.”
