Companies reporting environmental data doubles

The number of companies reporting environmental and social information nearly doubled between 2012 and 2014, suggests the latest Sustainability Yearbook, writes Energy Live News.

In 2014, 15.3% of firms put key sustainability details in their annual reports, rising from 8.8% in 2012.

This statistic in the Sustainability Index is based on 1,813 companies assessed for the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices 2014.

The yearbook also reveals European firms are in the lead when it comes to reporting on their environmental efforts such as energy use, with emerging markets the runner up for sustainability reports.
