Energy efficiency for industry could benefit UK by 1.9billion

Energy efficiency measures for large firms could benefit the UK by £1.9 billion, according to government proposals, writes Utility Week.

The Department of Energy and Climate Change (Decc) is proposing that assessments are made under the Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS) to identify where industries can install energy efficiency measures.

On average, it is expected that an enterprise will invest £15,000 per year in energy efficiency measures and benefits from bill savings of £56,400 per year.
