Gareth Barber

Gareth Barber is an experienced board director with a proven track record in business growth. An innovative and entrepreneurial leader, he has a distinguished pedigree in the operations and delivery side of complex, multi-site energy efficiency projects. Plus, he has an impressive portfolio of successful, turnkey projects for blue-chip clients on his resume. His most recent achievement was to lead a team on the management buy-out at BGES.
Prior to joining the BGES team, Gareth was Operations Director at WEMS International, where he helped to take the company’s P&L performance from £500k to £14.5m in just 4 years. He also played a key part in raising £13m of PE investment for capital growth. Gareth has also held senior engineering roles at Interserve and Space Engineering Services, and served in the British Army’s Corp of Royal Engineers.
Outside of work, Gareth is a busy family man with a passion for local team Sheffield United, golf and Japanese food. Unlike most Brits, he hates queuing and he’s intolerant of middle-lane hoggers!
