BG Energy Solutions (BGES) has made it through to the finals of the Building Controls Industry Association (BCIA) Awards, including being shortlisted for its unique VISTA energy management tool.
Widely acknowledged as the biggest and best awards in the controls and BEMS industry, the BCIA Awards celebrate innovation, product development, project delivery and great training in the sector.
BGES is a previous award winner and is a finalist in two categories: Technical Innovation of the Year (Products) for VISTA, and Best Service & Maintenance Provider for its ongoing work at Salford Royal Hospital.
Conceived by BGES, VISTA takes carbon reduction to a new level by adding an additional layer of intelligence to a BMS. The result is a step-change improvement in energy visibility, optimised building control – and guaranteed energy savings, plus improved comfort levels in the building. Crucially, it delivers 15 – 20% average savings of total building energy (electricity) consumption – NOT simply controllable load.
VISTA has particular strengths in the hospitality/hotels/cinemas sector: it can interface with 3rd partyroom and ticket/booking systems and BeMS platforms to optimise (in real-time) the internal ‘environmental’ controls of the building – thereby catalysing significant cost savings. A unique function of VISTA is its leading live points grab from the BeMS system should there be any on-site issues, which are mailed to the BGES energy and control center.
VISTA has already been deployed at 85 of Vue Entertainment’s cinemas in as part of their commitment to reduce energy use and maintenance costs. It integrates seamlessly with HVAC plant, ticket booking systems and the real-time projector. Heating and ventilation is adjusted and optimized in line with occupancy levels.
